At work we have a kids play area. This is great so parents can take their time choosing their colours and the kids are entertained! But wow, for a paint store, this table was really drab! I just couldn’t handle it any more, so I got to work!
Do you remember when I gave you a sneak peak at this Lace Lamp shade? Like MONTHS ago! Well, I finally got my s**t together and found some time to write this tutorial. I took a cheap, Walmart bathroom light fixture and turned it into something amazing! And you can too!
I am constantly looking for potential. For inspiration from something old or unwanted. One day I was searching Craigslist like I do and came across a coffee table and side table! For only $20! I emailed the guy and picked them up that day. I just loved the lines of the legs. I was excited to start refinishing these pieces!
Coral is one of my favorite colours. The perfect mix of orange and pink is amazing! I knew when I picked up two of these chairs for $11.00 I wanted a bright coral colour. So I went to the fabric store and found the fabrics that would be the inspiration for this whole project!
My daughter has more shoes then my entire house hold put together. And she’s only 2! After our fire, we had so much amazing support from the community and Myra didn’t go with out a thing, especially shoes! I needed to come up with a solution, the floor just wasn’t cutting it any more. I had picked up a couple of lonely drawers from a bid site one day with Myra’s shoes on my mind. Here’s a quick tutorial on a great kids shoe storage!
So as some of you may know, our house burnt down a few months ago. When we were on the hunt for a place to rent during the rebuild, it was almost impossible to find something! Luckily we have amazing friends… One friend offered us his townhouse, on one condition, that we paint the walls and do some minor upgrades so he can sell when we move out! Well this is right up my alley. I would probably go nuts if we rented a place that wouldn’t allow me to paint!
So you may remember my stir stick headboard that I created. Remember I said I kept all the cut ends and would eventually find a use for them? Well I did! Sometimes my hoarding pays off 😉 Here is a quick, inexpensive way to create a beautiful art piece for any room in your home!

Herringbone! This is one of my favorite patterns. I just love it, it’s unique and a classic. I’ve always known I wanted a herringbone headboard. I was just waiting for the right room to have one, and finding the right supplies. And I did! All for under $20 too! Can you believe it?!
So as you may have read in my earlier post, our home had burnt down! We are currently staying in a temporary townhouse while our house is being rebuilt. Now I get to decorate this place and then soon our brand new home! I am starting with our daughter’s room.
I went into a couple thrift stores just hoping to find a project I could work on at work. I was just waiting for inspiration to hit me! And it did, for a total of $24.00!
