At work we have a kids play area. This is great so parents can take their time choosing their colours and the kids are entertained! But wow, for a paint store, this table was really drab! I just couldn’t handle it any more, so I got to work!
This table has such amazing lines. It was given to me by some friends who were downsizing. I almost didn’t want to paint it because it was hand made years ago back as a high school wood working project. After I thought about it long and hard, I decided on some paint. I wanted a dramatic colour, but was undecided between red, blue, yellow or black. So I asked you! And by very popular vote, red was that winner.
Peel and stick tile is one of my new favorite things! I used it for the first time in the ensuite bathroom of the town house we’re staying in. The floor wasn’t in terrible condition before, it just didn’t work with the decor I wanted!
Do you remember when I gave you a sneak peak at this Lace Lamp shade? Like MONTHS ago! Well, I finally got my s**t together and found some time to write this tutorial. I took a cheap, Walmart bathroom light fixture and turned it into something amazing! And you can too!
I am constantly looking for potential. For inspiration from something old or unwanted. One day I was searching Craigslist like I do and came across a coffee table and side table! For only $20! I emailed the guy and picked them up that day. I just loved the lines of the legs. I was excited to start refinishing these pieces!
Coral is one of my favorite colours. The perfect mix of orange and pink is amazing! I knew when I picked up two of these chairs for $11.00 I wanted a bright coral colour. So I went to the fabric store and found the fabrics that would be the inspiration for this whole project!
My daughter has more shoes then my entire house hold put together. And she’s only 2! After our fire, we had so much amazing support from the community and Myra didn’t go with out a thing, especially shoes! I needed to come up with a solution, the floor just wasn’t cutting it any more. I had picked up a couple of lonely drawers from a bid site one day with Myra’s shoes on my mind. Here’s a quick tutorial on a great kids shoe storage!
So as some of you may know, our house burnt down a few months ago. When we were on the hunt for a place to rent during the rebuild, it was almost impossible to find something! Luckily we have amazing friends… One friend offered us his townhouse, on one condition, that we paint the walls and do some minor upgrades so he can sell when we move out! Well this is right up my alley. I would probably go nuts if we rented a place that wouldn’t allow me to paint!
As you may know, I am always on the hunt for a good deal. One day I came across a solid wood coffee table on a bid wars site! But it was way too orange for my taste. So I picked up this table for $7.00! I remember I had a bunch of other pick ups that day, my car was jammed packed! With my 1 year old in the car at the time too. The lady probably thought I was crazy. NOTE: my daughter was safe while I transported all goods 😉
Remember, Sharing is Caring. Wood is such a beautiful thing. I do prefer wood in nature, untouched and uncut. But even cut wood is one of my favorite mediums to decorate with.
My friend had given me this cut slab of a beautiful piece of wood. I knew right away I wanted to turn it into a side table either for the bedroom or living room. If you are fortunate to come across a piece of wood like this, this is how you can refinish it to look like the magazines!
