I know it’s been a while since my last tutorial post! I try to keep on top of it, but lets me honest… life gets in the way sometimes! Here is a great easy shelf you can make for your bathroom!
As some of you may remember, I’m working on updating an entire townhouse! The second room I started, was the Master en-suite. It needed a lot of work! Green, green everywhere… For some much needed storage, I created this adorable shelf! Here’s a full tutorial so you can make this too!

This table has such amazing lines. It was given to me by some friends who were downsizing. I almost didn’t want to paint it because it was hand made years ago back as a high school wood working project. After I thought about it long and hard, I decided on some paint. I wanted a dramatic colour, but was undecided between red, blue, yellow or black. So I asked you! And by very popular vote, red was that winner.

Coral is one of my favorite colours. The perfect mix of orange and pink is amazing! I knew when I picked up two of these chairs for $11.00 I wanted a bright coral colour. So I went to the fabric store and found the fabrics that would be the inspiration for this whole project!

My daughter has more shoes then my entire house hold put together. And she’s only 2! After our fire, we had so much amazing support from the community and Myra didn’t go with out a thing, especially shoes! I needed to come up with a solution, the floor just wasn’t cutting it any more. I had picked up a couple of lonely drawers from a bid site one day with Myra’s shoes on my mind. Here’s a quick tutorial on a great kids shoe storage!

So as some of you may know, our house burnt down a few months ago. When we were on the hunt for a place to rent during the rebuild, it was almost impossible to find something! Luckily we have amazing friends… One friend offered us his townhouse, on one condition, that we paint the walls and do some minor upgrades so he can sell when we move out! Well this is right up my alley. I would probably go nuts if we rented a place that wouldn’t allow me to paint!

So you may remember my stir stick headboard that I created. Remember I said I kept all the cut ends and would eventually find a use for them? Well I did! Sometimes my hoarding pays off 😉 Here is a quick, inexpensive way to create a beautiful art piece for any room in your home!
Remember, Sharing is Caring.

Herringbone! This is one of my favorite patterns. I just love it, it’s unique and a classic. I’ve always known I wanted a herringbone headboard. I was just waiting for the right room to have one, and finding the right supplies. And I did! All for under $20 too! Can you believe it?!

So last year for our daughters first birthday, I turned an old entertainment unit into a play kitchen for her! Then our house was burnt down and it was lost. But she loved playing with it, it was one of her favorite things! And now in our temporary house while ours is being rebuilt, we don’t have a lot of space, so the Ikea Duktig play kitchen is the perfect size! But boy oh boy was it ever boring in my eyes. So I decided to spice it up!

So, in the beautiful town I live in, once a year there is something called “Spring Clean Up” or “Free Dump Week” This is my, and all furniture refinishers and crafters favorite time of year! Everyone can put anything they want out for garbage pick up. Now most people, like myself, put out items that I know others may want or need. You may think it’s a little weird to have people rummaging through your garbage, but its a great way to recycle! Anything that I put out that didn’t get picked up by my fellow garbage pickers, I would actually bring back in the house and donate to the thrift store soon after, so its not all going in the landfill 🙂

Do you remember those tacky 80’s headboards? The ones with built in shelves? They were heavy, and dark, and awkward! Most of the time you could barely give them away for free, but here I was, jumping for joy when I found one for $10! I knew exactly what I wanted to do and already had my inspirational wallpaper on hand. This was going to be our daughters new book nook!
